Inner Critic

Reading Time: ( Word Count: )

Sometimes it’s just a whisper…

Almost a fleeting voice in the wind…

But it’s there…

“You’re not worth it”
“You can’t”
“Sooo stupid…”

In the background. A running commentary.

The voice in your head.

This is your inner critic. The internal dialogue that tells you what to expect of yourself…. tells you how big to dream…what you can and can’t do…

And it’s a reflection of how you think and feel about yourself…

What you believe about your worth…

It’s conditioned over years…probably a suggestion in childhood reinforced over years of validation…

Maybe it’s not even your voice…

Maybe it takes you by surprise…

But if this is what you hear…Then it’s killing your dreams.

It’s not a reflection of love.

So pay attention.

Listen closely…

What’s your little voice saying to you?

Because it’s helping you create your future.

XO

Triggers

Have you ever noticed that we can be easily upset by someone else’s perspective?

Or worse, their perception of us?

Confronted with a comment, suggestion or criticism, we can often feel anxious, angry or confused.

That’s an emotional trigger.

Releasing Guilt

Releasing Guilt

Guilt that motivates us to apologize fulfills the purpose of experiencing the guilt in the first place.  This is the virtuous side of guilt. However guilt that manifests into shame and changes what we believe to be true about ourselves is like a noose around our necks.  It destroys our emotional energy and leaves us feeling immobilized and deeply entrenched in shame.

Thoughts On Overthinking

Thoughts On Overthinking

Whether you’re beating yourself up about a mistake you made yesterday or obsessing about how you will perform tomorrow, you’re stuck in overthinking. While most of us overthink sometimes, some people just can’t ever seem to quiet the constant barrage of thoughts. Their inner monologue is on a constant repeat of two destructive thought patterns—rumination and worry.
